Grape press - supplementary drain channel shortens pressing time and reduces manual labour

Supplementary drainage channel comprises a tubular member of rectangular cross-section with holes through both of its larger faces; the channel is inserted vertically in the press cage, set radially to the press axis, and the height of the channel is less than the thickness of the pressed marc. Pref. the channel is made up of a series of tubular members which assemble telescopically so that the effective length of the channel continually decreases as the press platen descends.
