Insert 25 may have peripheral ribs or as shown grooves to lock with the partition. In moulding the battery case, the inserts are located between and at the ends of opposed grooves in the opposing surfaces of punch slabs, Figs. 3, 4, (not shown). The casing material may be polypropylene which shrinks on to the insert to improve the seal.
