1421463 Tyre reinforcing structures R MONZINI 15 Jan 1973 [28 Jan 1972] 2042/73 Heading B7C A vehicle tyre is reinforced by a first plurality of flexible tension-resistant assemblies of rigid elements, each assembly of said first plurality being circumferentially extending and completely embedded in a rubber tread portion of the tyre, and by a second plurality of flexible tension-resistant assemblies of rigid elements, each assembly of said second plurality being embedded in the casing of the tyre and extending transversely between the tyre beads, the assemblies of said first and second plurality being capable of shortening in use of the tyre. The reinforcing assemblies may take the form of metal chains. Means may be provided to connect adjacent circumferentially extending reinforcing assemblies. The tyre may have a tread rubber of higher hysteresis than rubber of the tyre casing.
