Fertilizers, plant protection agents, growth regulators and/ or soil improvement agents also may be present. Examples of active ingredients are 3-hydroxyoctanoic; 2,3-dihydroxyoctanoic; 10,11-dihydroxyundecanoic; 3-ketooctanoic; 4,7-diketooctanoic; 4,7-diketononanoic; and 2-keto- 3-hydroxyoctanoic acids.
