The housing end faces of the bearing abut against vertical support surfaces of the rolling mill frame. The bearing assembly comprises self aligning roller bearings abutting against the interior of the bearing housing. The housing is fitted with an inner rotating ring which is flexibly supported against the cover of the housing which ring accepts the roll trunnion or its extension to give it support. The assembly pref. incorporates a forther axial ball bearing in contact with the bearing housing. the design of the assembly eases its assembly and also ensures the distribution of the stresses occurring preventing their localisation.
