Polyimino-dicarboxylic acid esters which are heat-stable to =240 degrees C, highly transparent and stable to light, and useful as varnish coats, foils, coatings and elastomers, are prepd. by reacting org. cpds. (I) contg. =2 OH gps. with org. cpds. (II) contg. =2 oxycarbonylisocyanate gps., at 50-250 (150-230) degrees C in bulk or in inert solvents. Pref. (I) are polyesters, polyethers, polythioethers or polyurethanes having MW 500-4,000 and contg. at least 2 aliphatically bonded OH gps.
