A yarn clamp for pick measurement in high speed shuttleless looms works electromagnetically and with a response reducing waste from centimetres each pick to millimetres at most. It comprises a simple bracket fastening to the frame holding the coil and one jaw of the clamp, the other jaw being secured to a spring loaded arm carrying the magnet core.
