Aluminium drying compsns - comprising aluminium alkoxides plus alcohols etc with acetylacetone or ethylacetoacetate for improved atmospheric storage

Combination of an Al deriv contg =1 alkoxy gp and an excess of a monofunctional labile cpd is used. Pref Al cpd. are alkoxides which may be mono-, di-, or trisubstd pref monofunctional labile cpds are alcohols, alkoxy alcohols, alkoxyalcohols, and the enolic form of acetylacetone or ethylacetone or ethylacetoacetate. The Al derivs improve the drying speed of paints etc. The presence of the acetylacetone or ethl acetoacetate gives improved storage in atmospheric conditions.
