Metal coatings are provided on the plate faces for the excitation electrodes. In order to suppress the thickness oscillation modes in the plates, its central area is pref. excited. The plate central part is polarised in the thickness direction; or the central area is stronger polarised than peripheral areas; or at least two plate areas, pref. the central and the peripheral areas, are polarised in opposite directions. The areas with opposite polarisation directions are at least approx. equal.
