The brake linings are of semi-circular form with a central cut-out to suit the annular brake housing. At the midpoint of the lining periphery a radial projection has a small semi-circular cut-out at its tip. This cut-out fits round a semi-circular rod, which projects horizontally but parallel to the wheel axis, from the brake mounting plate. The rod can be swung away from the brake lining by releasing one of its fixing bolts. The brake linings can thus be renewed without dismantling the brake.
