Extruded ceramic tile with split slots - is extruded and simultaneously slotted for making the frangible joint

The ceramic tile is extruded in soft state and the separating slots are cut into the plate during extrusion. The tile has slots so that only narrow connecting sections are left between the slots. The tile is broken readily in half along the lines with slots. The underside of this tile is covered with plastics adhesive for joining purposes. The tiles are extruded over the strips which form cutters for forming the slots, and the tile has a neat edge after breaking into half. The underside of the tile has projecting steps which are formed during the separation of the plates. The plate is profiled in such a manner that rolls can engage with the emerging blank to form the projecting ribs which are preferably less than 1 mm above the plate underside.
