Fluid reservoir for master brake cylinder - having float attached to sealing valve and low level warning contacts

The fluid reservoir is fitted to the inlet pipe of the master brake cylinder and has a float fitted to a vertical shaft which protrudes out of the filling hole at the top of the reservoir. The shaft is fitted with a valve disc which seals the filling hole from inside the reservoir and prevents entry of dirt and water. As the fluid level falls to a min. level the float drops and a contact strip on the shaft closes a warning circuit to indicate to the driver that there is a low fluid level. The warning system is easily tested by pressing down the protruding end of the shaft.
