Cpds. of formula: also their metallic and acid-addition salts and their esters with alkanols (1-4C) R1 = alkyl (1-3C); 2-thienyl opt. substd. by Cl; phenyl opt. substd. by one or two F, Cl, Br or by alkoxy (1-3C), alkylthio (1-3C); R2 = H, alkyl (1-3C), phenyl optionally substituted by F, Cl, Br, alkoxy (1-3C), alkylthio (1-3C), R3 = H, alkyl (1-3C). The cpds. have analgesic, antiinflammatory and antipyretic activity, and are prepd. by reacting the corresp. 2-chlorothiazoles with alpha-hydroxyalkanoic acids.
