Small pieces of skin are sewn together to form strips which are themselves sewn together longitudinally and then reinforced by hot-glueing on the backs of the skins a piece of woven textile material with its warp threads at right angles to the longitudinal strip steams. The woven textile backing material comprises one piece which covers an area extending right across the strips but not for their full length; the remaining area is covered by textile material which longitudinally overlaps the first piece in an area where transverse stresses will be greatest in the garment to be made from the reinforced sheet; pref. the textile material covering the remaining area comprises two pieces which overlap laterally in the area likely to be stressed most severely in a longitudinal direction in the garment. Prod. is useful as a sheet of reinforced fur material for making a garment.
