The bracket is for use with a safety net on a building in course of construction, and has an upright carrying the inner net longitudinal member, and on which an arm pivots, extending outwards to support the outer member. The bracket has holders buttressed on the underneath of the floor of the storey to be protected and back from its edge, and on the top of the floor immediately below it. These holders can be folded so as to form a compact assembly at right angles to the upright for insertion between the floors whatever their frontage, and are preferably adjustable to suit different heights between floors and ceilings. A third support point can be provided if necessary against the edge of the lower floor.
