A rock cutting method for quarries or mines, uses toothed wheels incorporated in e.g. a disc or the links of a chain saw. The rotating of these wheels during cutting imparts impact to the attach besides the usual abrading process and the application of the tool to rock at a specified pressure effecting an incision. This impact or punching effect is applied at differing inclinations to the incision with an overlap of different angled attacks. The vertical faces of the incision are defined by sliding abrading tools trailing the rotating cutters. The wheels freely rotate on axis perpendicular or inclined to the incision, are of easily machinable material and incorporates teeth of tungsten carbide, diamond etc forming plane or curved cutters etc.,.
