Screened electrical cable for electro-acoustic and tone reproduction application, consists of a stranded inner conductor surround by a polyvinyl or polythene insulation. This insulation is wrapped in a plaited screen made from tinned copper wire. The screen is again surrounded by the outer polyvynil chloride insulation layer. The wires of the screen forming the weave intersect at right angle. The number of parallel wires in one direction is not equal to the number of parallel wires at right angles to that direction. The wires in the direction with the smaller number are used for holding the screen on to the insulation of the inner conductor.
