The present invention relates to a continuous process for preparing aluminium fluoride by reacting fluosilicic acid (substantially pure) obtained from superphosphate, phosphoric acid or hydrofluoric acid industries, having a maximum P2O5 content of 250 ppm and an aluminous material, preferably alumina or bauxite hydrate.
