[Also in Division C2] Chemosterilant steroids of the formula wherein R and RSP1/SP are C 1-7 alkyl; n is 4 or 5; and X is CO or C(-alkynyl) (#-OH) wherein alkynyl has 2-7 carbon atoms, which are potent estrogens and pituitary inhibitors, may be administered together with other hormonal agents, e.g. androgens or progestins, for inhibition of ovulation. The chemosterilants may be mixed with a carrier to provide a bait for nuisance animal control.
