An apparatus for producing a thermoplastic container with a handle starring from a tubular preform has a coolable, dividable blow mould with two main mould parts (1,2), cores (8) enclosing a cavity for the prodn. of the handle, a guide channel (3) formed between the mould parts (1,2), plugs (6) which can be inserted into and withdrawn from the guide channel (3), two turntables (10) supporting the plugs (6), and a driving mechanism for rotating each turntable in a stepwise manner. After insertion the plugs (6) close the inner end of the guide channel (3) and can be heated in this region. The turntables (10) are arranged on each side of the closing plane of the blow mould, and are situated approx. parallel to this plane.
