Unitary tyre has an exchangeable surface cap which corresponds in shape to the tread of the tyre and which is applied to the tyre when deflated. At the lower edge of the cap is a wire or similar matl. which allows the cap to be seated on the tyre wall when the tyre is inflated. The cap is fundamentally a kind of dual tyre. The cap is made of plastics matl.
