The two-pin electrical plug is constructed so that its cable (1) can leave either straight from the re ar of its housing (i.e. axially) or be bent through a right angle and leave through the side of its housing. The housing has an overhanging lip (6) on one side. This lip contains a right angled channel for the cable and has overhanging sides so that the cable can be pressed down into it to leave the plug lateraly. The overhanging lip also serves as an aid in removing the plug from its socket. The housing with the overhanging lip are moulded out of plastics.
