The stage is specially designed with variety shows in mind, and comprises a peripheral surround (2) which may consist of several aquaria, which may also extend laterally of the stage as far as the walls of the room. The stage may be mounted within the aquarium surround so that it lies flush with the upper edge of the surround or it may comprise a table-like projection (3) of any shape which may be mounted on a base. Pref. the stage and surround are provided with air circulation, heating and lighting means.
