Straw based fodder, esp for ruminants - contg molasses binder and powdered additives such as urea, wheat bran etc

Fodder, esp. for ruminants, consists of chopped straw mixed with molasses, and conventional powdered additives such as sources of proteins, minerals etc. The pref. additives are urea and/or dried lucerne, and/or linseed press meal and/or wheat bran. The molasses bind the straw; prevent dusting and hold the powdered additives; the compsn. remains homogeneous even when pressed into blocks etc. for automatic feed dispensing. The fodder is inexpensive and can be adjusted to suit requirements by selection of the additives.
