Optically active isomers of prostaglandin analogues of natural configuration are new. Optically active isomers ofprostaglandin analogues of natural configuration of formula (1-6), are new. X 1= group of formulae (a-g). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) process for preparation of optically active isomers of prostaglandin analogues of natural configuration (1), and their esters, salts, alcohol derivatives and dihydro-prostaglandin (PG1) derivatives; (2) optically active isomer of prostaglandin analogue of natural (3) configuration of formula (8); and (4) optically active isomer of prostaglandin analogue of natural configuration of formula (9). THP : 2-tetrahydropyranyl;and X 2group of formulae (a1-g1). [Image] [Image] [Image] [Image] ACTIVITY : Hypotensive; Diuretic; Thrombolytic; Antiulcer; Gastrointestinal-Gen.; Antiasthmatic; Anticoagulant. In a test for measuring anti-hypertensive activity using allobarbital anaesthetized dog, prostaglandin analogue e.g. 16-ethyl-prostaglandin-E2 exhibited hypotensive degree of 200. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
