The device consists of a cab which carries a loading platform or forks. The cab is fixed to an upright beam which is located on a support and may be moved along the beam, typically by means of a hydraulic jack. The support is movable along the floor of the warehouse in the same plane as the plane in which the beam is pivotal on the support. The beam is guided in its pivotal movement by horizontal rails which may be located at any level on the beam. The device may stack objects directly on one another or in pigeon holes and may also unload the stacks.
