Plastics cap for screw top carbonated drink bottle - has integral inner sealing dome and annular lip contacting recess in bottle rim

The cap (15) is threaded (8) to screw on the bottle neck (1); its top has a cavity in the centre forming a convex dome (10) on the inside of the cap. This dome has a rib around its circumference, its face angled outwards to provide a sealing edge (9) inside the bottle neck. Around the outside edge of the rim (3, 4) of the bottle is an annular recess (11), open on two sides. This provides a seating for a sealing lip (12) moulded into the inner corner (6) of the cap. The lip bisects the angle and has a rounded edge sealing on both faces of the recess.
