International currency of precious metal - has inscribed weight of precious metal for direct value calculation

The coin or medal is made of a precious metal. On one face the weight of metal is inscribed together with the type of metal. On the opposite face a suitable design can be inscribed. This can be a design commemorating an event, or another characteristic emblem, such as the head of a monarch or a legendary character. This enables the monetary value to be directly related to the weight and it could be used as an international currency, with exchange rates proportional to intrinsic value of the precious metal.
