Applying cap with safety closure and tear lines to container - by placing cap on container neck first and then producing tear lines

Safety closure for a container with closure cap (2) which is provided with a plastic guarantee strip (3) at least partly surrounding the neck of the container which strip is connected with the cap via tear lines (5, 6). The tear lines are produced, at least in part, after placing the cap on the neck, by perforation and/or reduction of the cross-section of the material of the strip. The first tear line (5) may be circular and there may be one or more vertical tear lines (6). The tear strip material may form a snap connection on the neck or may be hot-shaped to engage the neck.
