Concrete chimney lining protective fluid coating application - with sealing body moved down through chimney under fluid weight

The process is for covering a chimney lining with a protective sheath drawn over it. This is done to protect the inside concrete cladding (2) from the effects of harmful materials contained in the flue gases, esp. sulphurous acids. A fluid which makes up the protective sheath is applied to a sealing-body (3) filling the inside cross-section of the chimney (1). This is moved through the chimney, from top to bottom, under the weight of the applied fluid. The sealing body is connected to a counterweight (8) by a traction member (5), the usage of fluid being indicated by the movement of the sealing body through the chimney. This can easily and quickly carried out after erection of the chimney.
