Operating handle (6) is fitted with pinion (9) seated in a two-part sheet metal casing (8) enveloping Bowden guide bushing (4). Extension of casing (8) provides seating for drum (9) with outer toothing (9a) and compensating spiral spring (9b). Pinion (9) is in meshing engagement with the spiral windings of the pull- and push type bowden, but the latter is also in mesh with the toothing (9a) of the drum (9). The connecting line between the drum seating and the pinion seating is perpendicular to the centreline of the bowden, so that the part of the bowden subjected to the radial component of the torque from the pinion is kept in a balanced position by the counteraction from the toothed drum, hereby reducing frictional resistance of the bowden within the guide bushing.
