Prestressing of wide span heavily loaded structure - generates moment pattern with slight variation between prestressing and full loading

The prestressing process is for the erection of load bearing structures, where wide spans and/or heavy loadings are involved. The object here is to limit form changes under loading, with structures, or parts or members of them, made rigid with the aid of prestressing. This is applicable to a wide range of structures and materials. This involves third forces, promoting alterations, in length, as a high percentage of full loading. By this means a pattern of moment is generated, varying only slightly between prestressing and full loading, in alteration with the useful and/or inherent loads, and/or other vertical or horizontal loads.
