Oxidative post treatment of cellulosic textiles - dyed or printed with sulphur or sulphur vat dyes using aq. acid ferric salt solns

In the parent patent the treatment, used to develop colour tone, is effected at 30-80 degrees C. with aq. acid solns. of Fe+++ salts. In the present patent, the post-treatment is effected at 10-120 degrees C, pref. 80-120 degrees C. The post-treatment time is reduced by several mins, and can be carried at larger bath ratios. The wet-fastness properties of the dyes and paints correspond to those obtained in the parent patent. The post-treatment is effected in an open apparatus at temps. up to the b.pt. of the oxidn. bath i.e. up to about 100 degrees C. Above 100 degrees C closed baths are used.
