Eccentric shaft for peristaltic pump - has eccentrically located discs stacked on drive shaft to operate activator plates compressing tube

Eccentric discs located on a drive shaft provide the required oscillating motion for a peristaltic pump used in infusion processes and or delivery of a material volume of fluid. Fluid in a tube is pumped at very low rates by progressive compression of the tube by a stack of actuator plates (10) moved in cyclic fashion. Each plate has an elongated slot that receives a circular disc (5). Each disc has bore that is eccentrically located relative to the periphery. Each disch is tied to adjacent ones by a number of dowel pins. All discs are located on a drive shaft (4) supported in bearings (7) and motor driven (15) over a gear train (17, 18, 19). The discs transmit vertical motion to the actuator plates to force the fluid through the tube.
