Switching matrix for character display - has AND-gate switching matrix with columns coupled to display outputs and other inputs gated by monitor actuation signals

The AND gate switching matrix is used for gating display information through to a number of video monitors under control of a central processor. The system is intended for alpha-numeric information displays. The central processor accesses character stored in digited form within three memories assigned to specific monitor displays. Display signal generators convert the information to drive signals. A central clock generator operates various frequency division stages with a display control unit to gate the signal generators. A synchronising stage co-ordinates the operation of the monitors through mixing stages. A switching matrix of AND gates ahs the columns coupled to the display signal generator outputs with the other inputs gated by actuation signals from the monitor consoles.
