Single pipe central heating system radiator valve through which a heat transfer medium flows, has a tubular lance connected to the valve outlet pipe. The lance partially extends into the feed pipe for the heat transfer medium. The outward directed section of the lance is surrounded at a small distance by a sieve (16) which is of tubular form and has a series of through flow apertures. One end of the sieve (16) is connected to the feed pipe (7, 10) mouth end, the other end is sealed against the lance (8).
