Display installation presents horizontally-lying carpet samples. The plates (8, 9) carrying the samples are stored inside a box-shaped frame which is open towards the front, with several of the sample-carrying plates positioned close behind each other. The plates may be lifted or lowered with the use of a lifting system (10) one after the other corresponding to about their heigh measurement. The lifting system (10) is made as a rope guide with fixed reversing rollers fitted to the upper side supports of the frame. Reversing rollers are fitted to the sides of the plates which act together with the rope guide.
