摘要
The crank shaft bearing of a connecting rod is split along a centre line. Two clamping bolts are used to attach the removable half of the bearing housing to the main body of the connecting rod (12). Two bearing half shells (1, 2) are located by the split housing and the crank shaft. Each bearing half shell (1, 2) is provided with a location hole (4, 5) along the split line interface. On installation of the bearing shells, a hooked spring clip (6b) is inserted in each pair of location holes. The clips (6b) hold the two bearing shells in position on the crank shaft whilst the bearing housing of the connecting rod is assembled around it.
