In one form, Figs. 1, 3, balls 8 project through slots 7 in a base portion 5 of a toy 1, &c. and move back - and - forth along the slots as the toy swings down a slope 9. In another form, the base portion 5, Fig. 5, carries a T - shaped post 15 upon which a body 15 simulating a human figure swings back - and - forth, arms 18 pivoting freely on the body. Alternatively the body may simulate a peeking chicken, a mounted horseman, a skier, a single animal, human or mythical figure or groups of these figures. The body may .include movable weapons such as axes, lances, &c. or bells, rattles, &c. The body, &c. may be made of plastics and the balls 8 of metal. The toy may be arranged to pick - up an object as it progresses, e.g. it may simulate a locomotive and mail van, and pick up a mailbag. Instead of progressing down a smooth slope, the toy may be guided by a side tail or a slot, or the surface over which it runs may be of compound angled configuration having a shallow V - shaped track. In another form the toy is inverted and suspended beneath an inclined rail engaged by a ball, roller or wheel, and may simulate a Tarzan type figure.
