A feed apparatus for supplying raw material into an injection moulding machine with reciprocating, revolving screw is as follows: the feed duct leading transversely into the cylindrical barrel of the injection machine is blocked across a substantial portion of its width by an obstructing component, leaving merely a narrow gap at one side; the continuously fed strip of raw material, e.g. rubber or plastics, descends vertically into the upwards-pointing, open-ended feed duct after passing around a motor-driven feed roller; the motor drive feeds in the strip at a predetermined speed, and the strip is sufficiently stiff to stand up away from the surface of the feed roller when the feed demand in the injection machine falls, and then to pick up speed again as the feed demand rises.
