Conically threaded mating parts with seal - counterbore in female part receives ring seal deformed by male part

Male and female parts of a conduit, pipeline or air duct are connected by a conically threaded portion of the male part engaging a correspondingly threaded bore in the female part. A counterbore at the end of the female part receives an elastic sealing ring which is deformed during insertion of the male part to sealingly grip the male threads and the outer diameter of the counterbore. In a modification the male part has a shoulder and the sealing ring extends beyond the end of the female part so that it is trapped against the shoulder.
