A channel section (10) for a sliding window on a vehicle or craft, and which has a deep flange (10) on the inside and a hooked portion (12) on the outside into which fits a capping strip (14), is of U section between these two vertical portions, the wall (P) of the vehicle or craft locating inside the U shape. A porous filler piece (20) is inserted between the deep flange and the wall, while a narrow triangular section flexible strip (16) inserted between the capping strip and the wall is locked in position by a wedge shaped flexible strip (18). Resilient strips of alternative design may replace the two wedging strips.
