Spray boom suspension for agricultural tractor - has cable supported vertically slidable and inclinable support frame

The boom (2) is attached to a movable frame (7) which is itself suspended from a fixed support (8) by means of cables (24 & 25) wound on to winch (12). The cables pass over pulleys (26), (27), (28a) and (28b) on support (8), and end on winders (21 & 22) operated by handles (23), by means of which the boom can be tilted to either side for operation across a slope. The boom can also be adjusted for height by operation of the winch. The elasticity of the synthetic fibre cables plus the considerable inertia of frame (7) and boom (2) tends to absorb shocks caused by rough ground and keep the bottom horizontal.
