The crane has a lattice-work tower with a slowing super-structure and jib, and the tower is composed of stackable modular components open to one side. The columns adjacent to the opening are coupled to adjustable assembly components securing them to the various floor levels, and the tower has guides for a lift cage. It forms an integral part of the building, in which it remains when work is complete, only the crane jib, superstructure and slewing mechanism being removed for use elsewhere. The columns to the sides of the openings can be formed by T-section girders, the bar of the T being welded to the cross-members, while the leg points outwards and has a stiffening hinge welded on.
