Explosive forming of metal where the workpiece and the explosive are fitted in a chamber. The explosion chamber (3) is formed by the front sides (2) of many straight tubes (1) which are adjacent at their edges and are set up normal to the imaginary face of the chamber (3). The intermediate spaces between the tube front sides (2) are hermetically sealed and each tube, in length, constitutes at least half the smallest length dimension of the chamber (3). The adjacent tubes (1) are rigidly connected by means of struts (5, 6) and the free space between tubes is filled with bulk material (8).
