A cable tie and mounting assembly has a mounting (10) which has a cylindrical head with two slots. At the opening of one of these slots is a flexible lug (15) extending forward and downward. Between the slots and an attachment stud (17) is a circular skirt (16) forming a seal with e.g. a panel (31). The attachment stud consists of a rounded point, a central stem (18) and two flexible lugs. The cable tie (11) consists of a flat strip, narrower at its forward end (24) and having a curved stop (26) at its rear end, which, when the tie is threaded into one slot, abuts against the heat. The tie passes around cables and through the second slot so that the locking lug (15) engages in one of several recesses in the tie.
