Grooved roller for cold pilgering of thin-walled tubes, which effects, over a given contact angle, a centact between groove-tube- and mandrel cross-section where the contact angle amounts to at least 140 degrees over the complete working groove length. The contact zone resulting from the contact angle has a circular cross-section and the gap between the theoretical continuation of the arc-shaped groove cross-section to the roller gap and the local mandrel diameter corresponds to the locally increasing tube wall.
