Security duct for transfering money from van to bank - consists of armour plated duct operated by hydraulic jacks and pushed through opening in van side

Money is directly transferred from a security van to a bank using a duct (2) which can be slid out from a housing (3) in a wall (4) of the building through an opening of identical dimensions in the side of the security van (6). The duct (2) has two compartments (7, 8,) one of which (8) is solid so that, when in the closed position, it corresponds to the thickness of the wall. The outside of this compartment is covered with a sheet or armour plating (10). To operate the duct, a coded magnetic card is inserted into a control box (11) fixed to the outside of the wall. This operates a hydraulic jack (9) which pushed the duct outwards. A door (12) covering the other compartment (7) in the duct which is hollow, lifts up enabling the money to be placed inside. It then slides down a ramp into the bank.
