The chemist's shelf unit has adjustably attached shelf-divider plates connected on one side to a guide rail of the corresponding shelf compartment by a holding link. The divider plate has a receptacle in which preferably two indicator cards are detachably held. The card receptacle is made of transparent plastic in one piece with the divider plate (1) and the holding clip (2), and holds the indicator cards parallel to the plane of the divider plate (1) so that the edges of the cards do not project beyond the receptacle edge. There are windows fitted on either side to facilitate indicator card reading. The upper part of the receptacle (3) lines up with the horizontal edge of the divider plate (1).
