The sealing bar, with a fitting bar incorporating a corner profile piece, is for positioning on a window bench etc. It is designed to prevent the risk of losing its sealing effect as a result of corrosion in the vicinity of a nail. The sealing bar (1) has a retainer lip (4) formed on it, on the inside. This can run out from a point (6) below the corner profile (3), extending towards this. There is pref. an acute angle between the sealing batten and the fitting lip (2), the former being half as thick as the latter, while the bar area (5) between the retainer lip connection and the fitting lip can be of the same thickness as the sealing lip. Use can be made of plastic tube, with a stem piece co-extruded separated lengthways.
